Footfire
BROSSARD – BACK WHERE THEY BELONG
10 fév.

After losing four of five to start this winter, FC Footfire are back to taking no prisoners as they continue to climb the B Division ladder.

“The thinking against the FC Blues was simply to beat them so we could overtake them in the standings,” explains Nermin Kobas, whose team squandered an early 2-0 but eventually held on for a nerve-wracking 4-3 win. “Our defense bent but never broke, which ultimately allowed me to find myself in the perfect spot in the last minute of play to seal the deal.”

Although FC Select remains miles ahead of all competition with multiple games in hand, Footfire’s plan is to keep on climbing. “We don’t envy any team that’s going to be facing us between now and the end of the year.”

POTG: Kobas singles out Guillaume Dumais, the defensive surprise of the year in his opinion, for blocking a lion’s share of shots in this win, including one on a wide open net that in turn led to his own game-winning goal.
