RDP - A WIN COMMITTED TO MEMORY
02 Feb

A captain never forgets the goals that win the very biggest of games.

“One of them was a nice strike in mid-air from Samuel Duguay and the other, the winning goal, a precise left-foot shot by Rizwan Islam,” recounts Virgile Gélinas, providing the compelling blow by blow of how his injury-plagued D-Rob broke a 1-1 halftime draw to slip past FC Astrovia 3-2.

“They kept pushing until the end but our midfielders, Jana and Virgile, clogged the middle of the pitch while our Coach Nicolas kept us focused and our talented goalkeeper Gabriel Brassard made key saves, as usual.”

With Groupe Aldo now in its crosshairs, the rookie D-Rob crew is starting to feel the stirring of bigger things to come. “If our wounded finally come back and we play our best soccer, we might have a long playoff journey.”

POTG: Samuel Duguay gets the nod for both the “shocking” goal that boosted the team’s confidence and his solid defensive play.
