BROSSARD – SOMETIMES, THE BAR DOESN'T EAT YOU
15 jan.

Four unanswered goals in the second half have FCMB feeling like anything is now possible in Brossard’s top division.

“The turning point was the fourth goal of the game,” recounts Sylvain Cardinal, describing with pinpoint accuracy the go-ahead goal in a crucial come-from-behind 6-3 win over the FC Blues. “Presley Nkambou took the free kick and placed the ball right near the second post, where it was redirected by our defender Guillaume Rondeau. It was perfect timing. Claude-Arthur Diesse got the last two goals to complete the hat trick and we never looked back.”

Now tied for second with those very same FC Blues, FCMB have set their sights on top dog FC Select, still undefeated with a six-point cushion to boot, despite having played two fewer games.

“We don’t believe any team is invincible,” continues Cardinal, the 4-1 loss to FC Select back in December in the rearview. “That being said, we know they’re a very formidable opponent who’s hard to beat because they’re opportunistic, defensively sound and a well-balanced team.”

POTG: While Claude-Arthur Diesse gets the offensive nod, Cardinal praises Presley Nkambou for both his intensity and defensive play.
