BROSSARD – THE RE-CONSTRUCTION HOLIDAYS
30 déc.

Pre-season tournament heartbreak aside, FC Ortho seems to have regained some kind of a championship strut.

“Our last four wins were a result of better team chemistry,” declares Momen Eldeeb, providing a game-by-game breakdown of his squad’s slow climb back into statistical significance, a feat which was capped off rather nicely this Sunday with a symbolic 3-1 victory against tournament darlings FC Garrincha.

“The first goal was a header by Charles-David Martel on a great cross from Omar Nemer,” he recounts, the game less than two minutes old. “His second one was a solid strike from the half line that the keeper did not see coming. Garrincha came back with a nice goal on a corner – nothing too special. Finally, I scored on a counter attack.”

With Garrincha now just another notch on their belts, Eldeeb and friends will turn their focus on the third-seed FC Blues. But the still-undefeated FC Select loom extra large. “We have a tendency to start the season badly but we always finish strongly. Ultimately, we fear no opponent.”

POTG: “Omar Nemer has been our star player to date. He’s our number 10. He controls the ebb and flow of every match.”
