LAVAL MEN – LOOKING FORWAD TO LOOKING AHEAD
15 Dec

FC Nomade wasn’t about to let an ugly outcome get in the way of a great performance.

“Too bad the game ended prematurely,” explains Eric-Olivier Pietrantoni, describing how opponents BG FC basically threw the game away after a disputed fifty-fifty foul and the dirty hits that followed forced the referee to call the game at 7-2. “Still, we were able to control the game and never felt under pressure.”

Pietrantoni and company are currently just one win shy of top-seed FDA Standa at the halfway mark of the B4 season. Despite some crucial season-ending injuries, undefeated FC Nomade is obviously looking forward to that encounter.

“Especially since they were the ones who beat us in the playoffs last year. They have a very dangerous player in Emanuele Marabella, who has already scored 20 goals (this season). If we can keep him in check we should be able to win the game. But it’s going to take an extra effort defensively.”

POTG: “There is not one single standout player and this is part of our strength.” The captain does go on to praise the consistency of Pierrick Pequeur – who has scored in every game – and defender Rémi Faugère.
