Their own win record blemished, Les Bleus had nothing more to lose than their own defensive pride.

“They underestimated us,” declared David Garel following a rather lopsided 7-1 win against undefeated FC Estiqhlal. “Last week, we almost beat (the Blues Brothers) playing one man down. This week, we all showed up and played a perfect defensive game. When your defense is perfect, the goals will come.”

With a meager five goals allowed in four games, Les Bleus will look to distinguish themselves amongst a competitive and equally miserly C Division top brass. “Like I said, defense wins championships. And we’re planning to prove it this year.”

POTG: “We’re relying not only on the best keeper in the league (Georges Philippe Gauthier) but, in my opinion, on its best defensive unit as well.”
