Perhaps FC Juve was simply too dark a horse. Regardless, Jonathan Garzone couldn’t have asked for a more inspiring end to the season.

“The last game against Union proved to me that we are a competitive team and I’m sure Atacama felt a difference from the last game, considering we lost by seven goals. We came back strong on Friday (despite the 3-2 loss) and we will come back even stronger next season.”

Robbing FC Juve of a potential semifinal rematch, Atacama will now have their own shot at second-seed Union – a squad they have suffered miserably against in two regular season meetings. Top C3 Division seed FC Montana, meanwhile, will face a Reds squad that managed a 4-4 draw when both teams last met in late July. Both should make for interesting semis.

POTG: Christian Tessier, who was instrumental in getting FC Juve into the postseason with a four-goal performance against Union, added one last goal in what was ultimately a losing cause.
