Liners
LAVAL WOMEN - THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UNINTENDED
27 août

Another tough win against a statistically weaker team has left the B-Liners exactly where they need to be: Looking up and thinking ahead.

“We think it’s important for a mid-level team like us to be challenged periodically to measure how we have progressed,” explains a thoughtful Emma Lecky, who was simultaneously celebrating and bemoaning a 3-1 win over the Heat spurred in large part to a terrible and unintended injury to their opponent’s keeper. “We wish her a quick recovery and hope they aren’t holding any grudges about the incident.”

Lecky believes the secret to keeping pace with second-seed Broad Squad and the undefeated Misfits is tighter defense. While a first-place finish in the FB1 Division seems out to the question, the B-Liners mindset remains stubbornly optimistic.

“We tend to not anticipate an automatic loss and maybe this gives us more heart while we play. I guess we should take pride in that.”

POTG: “I’d like to mention our keeper Roxane Lafleche, who, when games are tough and we have a hard time scoring, can keep us in it. I think she plays a big part in where we stand in the rankings. Genevieve Adam is our top scorer. She is quick on her feet and can reliably hit the target when given the chance.”
