Seven losses in a row can do a number on a team’s collective confidence – almost as much a single win.

“It’s a close race for that final playoff spot,” explains Vandelay Industries CEO Ivano Manzo, sounding rather positive after a 6-5 win over Inter Quebec Portes & Fenetres has left his squad in the playoff hunt despite winning only two games all season. “We’re still hoping we can win the next two games.”

With only three points separating the five teams in the bottom rung of the C3 Division from the eighth and final playoff spot, Vandelay’s chances seem just as good as anyone else’s – particularly with S.P.Q.R just around the bend.
