Amazone may have felt like the world was their oyster – until they came across the toughest pearl in the FC2 Division Ocean.

Despite a valiant defensive effort to clog their own half of the field, the playoff underdogs finally cracked under controlled Queen of the World pressure – who hit a good four crossbars and ultimately went on to win their second straight championship in a 1-0 dandy.

“On the field before the game, the other team was talking strategy and we were joking and dancing,” explained veteran captain Andrea Devico, not looking to downplay either the competition or the severity of the final. “But I feel like we won because we were relaxed and confident.”

Joga Bonita, meanwhile, followed through on its own miracle playoff run (which included knocking out the top three seeds) with a 1-0 nail-biter over FC Boisbriand on the back of an Elyssa Nassif goal.

POTG: Queen striker Katia Codipietro finally managed to sink Amazone wall with a clever heel-kick deflection midway through the second half.
