For STL United, achieving the impossible ultimately became impossible.

After holding the division-leading Wolfpack to a miraculous 1-1 draw last week, the struggling East-End Italian side finally watched their slim playoff hopes evaporate in a bitter 2-1 loss to second-in-line FC Pure.

The loss was welcome news for FC Montreal, who earned said final playoff spot on the strength of a six-game undefeated streak that finally came to a grinding halt as well. All stats aside, it seems any team can beat any other team in the C2 Division – which should make for an interesting and unpredictable playoff campaign ahead.
