There were moments early in the season where the B-Liners wondered if they were even in the right division. Perhaps those doubts have been finally laid to rest.

“The team was thrilled to have tied the top team and especially to ensure a place in the playoffs,” explains Catherine Borisov in the wake of a 1-1 draw against Les Étoiles de l’Est. Marie-Christine Lalonde gave the girls the lead halfway through the first, allowing the defensive unit to work its magic shutting down the opponent’s big guns. “It was an important game and all the girls gave it their all.”

A last preparatory game against the FC Amigas will set up an eventual quarterfinal match against FB1 top guns Les Oranges. And the B-Liners are going to continue with the strategy that’s been working since midseason. “We need a solid defensive play, and we will use the energy and speed of our midfields to create opportunities in front of the goal.”

POTG: “The player to be mentioned is our goalie Roxanne Laflèche. She has been outstanding all season and has made many impressive saves. People who have seen here play would really understand what I mean.”
