The last playoff spot in the C3 Division was ripe for the picking. Only problem was no one was either willing or able to take advantage.

With Green Street Elite leaving its coveted tenth spot completely unattended following a 5-1 loss to Penne Arrabiate, everyone from Calcio D’Oro to FC Montreal to the FC Sardines could have slipped into next week’s playoff qualifier with a simple win of their own.

Instead, all three teams bowed out in rather spectacular fashion to higher-ranked opponents. Only FC Montreal seemed to make a proper effort of it as they dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to the Vikings.

POTG: Although shut out in his final game for his beloved FC Sardines, striker David Pascarella deserves special mention for leading all C2 Division snipers with 24 goals this winter.
