LAVAL – OH, LOOK. THE STARS ARE OUT.
14 nov.

How do you guide an elite squad of 17-year-olds who are completely new to the league and haven’t played seven aside since they were tweens?

“I gave them a tactical formation and asked them to shoot as often as possible and have fun with it,” explains Stars coach and former AC Croma player Maurizio Somma. “Last night’s game went well. They continued their good form and won 5-1 (against Mirabel).”

With not even a pre-season tournament to prepare, this tightknit group of former Laval/Lakeshore/Dawson/John Abbott AAA players seem to be fitting into the women’s FA Division just fine, having neatly handled tournament champs Chelsea in their season opener.

POTG: Stars striker Chloe Ricciardi seems have adapted particularly well with three goals in her first two games.
