The men of Laval provided top to bottom playoff entertainment and every shade of amazement.

I mean, for starters, nobody had Maxime Oliveri and Inter Montreal FC taking the cake in the A Division. Ditto for the Young Boys, who’d slip past the very same Cotton Tige FC side that slipped past heavy favourites AFC Richmond in the B1 semis. Or Homenetmen Gamk, surprise B2 champions in their own right once the smoke of a 1-0 win over Worldclass had cleared.

US Capolista lived up to their own reputation in the clutch with a 5-4 win over B3 favs Revolution Team. As did the sixth-seed Half Senders FC, 4-3 winners over FC Moretti in the B4 finale.

It wasn’t all bewildering. The FC Goons stunned absolutely nobody as they bled out Bloodline FC for the C1 championship, while both Sons of Nonna FC and the Turfkings made the majority of the panel proud by capturing their respective C2 and C3 Divisions. Atletico FC may have tiptoed past Prosciutti e Melone with a 1-0 championship victory, but it was Haboub FC 2 that set the C5 on fire with a 4-3 barnburner over Trimax – a result no one could have predicted.

Congratulations to all on a job well done!
