If you’d have warned the playoff panel both les Tipsy and the Bulldogs could eventually meet in an FC championship match, well, we’d probably all have picked les Braves and Vipers regardless.

But both underdogs proved us wrong, in regular time, and by the thinnest of margins, thanks to winning goals by Laurence Fortier and Mary Ekmekdjian. But lightning rarely strikes just once. A similar scenario played out in the B3 Division, where Trimax and Channel 4 News completely blindsided us by knocking out favs Motovan and FC Barilla Pasta in Thursday’s semifinals – even as the rest of the playoffs proceeded largely as expected.

LOOKING AHEAD TO WEEK 17 …

On Sunday, it’s the one final everyone expected as top seeds Queen of the World and Avengers meet for one last time.

Tuesday night at 8 pm will feature dark horse FC Thunder against FC Boisbriand on one field, les Tipsy and the Bulldogs on the other. Then on Wednesday, Aces and Tutto Bene will settle who rules Laval’s top men’s division once and for all.
