It’s more than just the lopsided scorelines. For Los Angelos, shutdown soccer has become as second-nature as wearing a mask in this Summer of COVID.

Los Angelos FC stuck to the same defensive script against the championship-calibre RDPeters this week, shutting out the premiere offensive threat in the C5A Division 3-1 thanks in large part to an impenetrable backline that has now allowed just two goals in five games. With a gaping five-point edge on first place and a perfect 5-0 record to boot, expect Boavista’s attackers to spin their wheels when both teams meet on Monday.

LOOKING AHEAD TO WEEK 6 …

In women’s action, Art du Soccer will give the slinky Pink Panthers a first real run for their money as both teams put perfect records on the line in a battle for St. Leo supremacy in this Sunday. Then on Tuesday, Blue Sky will look to leapfrog into top spot in Laval’s FC1 Division with a win over undefeated FC Boisbriand.

And finally, after hitting the ‘All Good’ brick wall in their season opener, Compulsive Calcio will take a second stab at B1 leaders Tutto Bene in men’s action Thursday night.
