If Totalcampo issued championship rings, keeper Melanie Moukas would need a second pair of hands to wear them all. In case you’re wondering what’s behind the swagger.

“We might be older than most of the teams but we’re just as fast,” declares the Pink Ladies captain, who’s given up running former ring-worthy Prime Time to focus solely on net-minding for the decades-old defending champs, already a perfect 6-0 this winter following back-to-back wins against the FB Division’s best – victories she nonchalantly predicted when we finally reconnected following a prolonged attention lapse.

“This year we restructured and added four new players,” Moukas continues, still unabashedly excited after all these years. “With two new strikers we are amazing!!!!”

To be sure, forwards Christina Luciani and Wynonna Cross have turbocharged the Pink Ladies offence, with no less than 16 goals between them. Katie Wallace and Elodie Grenier have also helped to reinforce the squad’s core, allowing Moukas and company to repel both second-seed Les Poussins – “good, talented and clean players!” – and good friend Julia Cerone’s third-seed ABCDE FC squad, praised as both “young and fast!”

But when Moukas writes “we hope to continue playing this way all season,” what she’s really saying is: You might as well shine up that 2020 championship trophy for my ladies.
