It’s difficult to remember the last time the top three seeds in any division were knocked out in an opening Totalcampo playoff round.

And yet Laval’s C2A Division was the scene of total underdog carnage this past Wednsday night, as last-squad-in CSMontreal absolutely stunned top seed FC Bashtone with a 4-2 victory, helped along by a pair of Amine Smail goals. A magnificent feat in and of itself, that one quarterfinal was matched by La Famiglia’s ouster of next-in-line Deezup, losers of only three matches before that, as well as sixth-seed Heaven 11 FC’s 4-1 stunner over SS Mischiate on the strength of Gabriele Folino’s two-goal performance, the sum total of which has now thrown the entire division for a loop.

Though nowhere nearly as subversive, Monday night’s upsets are also worth a mention. Sixth-seed Worldclass, a squad that rode into the playoffs with three straight losses and only 18 points to their name, beat out C1 Division favourites FC Alma on a goal by Nicola Jr. De Sanctis. In the C5C Division, seventh-seed Foot Clan emerged 4-1 winners over Glitch United, earning themselves a semi-final matchup against the mighty Bulldogs.

Expect more miracles in the coming weeks. Tis the season, after all.
