GQ United are seven years into a soccer journey that has brought the friends many joys – but no championship memories to speak of.

“Well, the furthest we’ve been is the finals,” explains forward Aren Bedros, a founding member who’s made more than one highlight reel for a squad that seems particularly well calibrated and motivated this winter. “Our team gets stronger with every game.”

Giuseppe Zampini first assembled this crew of Laval Catholic high school friends and Monteuil competitive players back in 2010. Since then, he’s been leaning on playmakers like Michael Fazioli, Manuel de Andrade and Aren Bedros to get things done. Undefeated three games in, GQ United’s patient ambition might finally be rewarded. “When we play, we always want to have a good time and respect our opponents. But our main goal is to win games, to win a championship.”
