LAVAL WOMEN - SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE GIRLS
22 nov.

It doesn’t take very long to pull off a recipe ten years in the making – is what Sabrina D’Addario is basically saying.

“(Last game) was the first time I actually noticed the team come together and play as a whole,” explains the founder, captain and just another one of Those Girls who neatly handled Eclair 5-0 to remain undefeated in their rookie Totalcampo season. “We figured out our strengths and weaknesses. This is why it was an easier game for us.”

You’d expect clicking would be the least of Those Girls’ concerns, given a good number of them started their competitive soccer journeys with CSRDP back when they were just 11 years old. A decade on, D’Addario insists her girls are wiser and not so easily rattled.

“Our greatest strength is remaining calm on the field. We know how skilled we are, both individually and as a team.” And while she admits herding such a large contingent presents its own unique challenges, their ability to change frequently and avoid fatigue is a definite advantage. In other words, their early FC2 Division dominance has little to do with beginner’s luck. “Our ambition is definitely to win the championship this season.”
