Only one week ago, it looked like FC Bricks had really pulled off the impossible and put Camvi out of playoff commission.

Suddenly, that 6-6 draw against the league’s most decorated veterans and the temporary five-point final playoff spot lead it afforded them seems to have lost all its sting, owing to the fact that while the Bricks were 6-2 losers to FC Jixon this week, Camvi managed to close the C1 Division playoff gap to just two points with a 3-2 win over dead-last Cafe Riviera.

To further complicate matters, both playoff hopefuls will each spend their early Septembers contending with division heavyweights in their two remaining games, which should make for some interesting soccer.

POTG: Camvi’s Christopher Guerrera has managed to catch fire at an opportune time, netting five goals in his last three starts.
