LAVAL - CITIZENS AGAINST DOUBLE TROUBLE
21 Jul

The wound from your first loss can end up haunting you throughout the season – especially if you are unable to avenge it.

And this is precisely what makes Citizen’s come-from-behind 6-5 win against Brothers United – the same squad that neatly handled them 4-1 back in May – all the more tremendous. “We wanted to continue our winning streak and move up in the standings, and that’s exactly what we did,” explains Matthew Konya. “Being down by two goals at halftime and coming out with the win definitely shows the will and fight that each one of my teammates have!”

While Calvin Konya’s winner ultimately propelled the Citizens past their third-seed rivals and into a first-place tie with Los Blancos, nobody on the team is marking off the date of that inevitable encounter. “We know they are a good team, however we’ll deal with them when the matchup comes up.”

POTG: “We’re a strong unit with great camaraderie and have been getting stronger every game. Every player contributed.”
