Their last matched rained out in a burst of thunderstorms, √Člizabeth Lachance and her Torros have had even more time to reflect on their first summer heartbreak.

“We made several errors that cost us three goals in the first half. Our passes weren’t so precise and we gave the Tough Mothers’ players too much space. But even though we lost 3-1, we could say the second half was ours and that they were also disappointed with the score, having gotten used to winning more easily.”

Now, while the Tough Mothers sit pretty, undefeated, atop the FC Division following an identical performance against the second-seed FC Fire, Torros find themselves eight points behind the squad they have vowed to defeat the next time around. “It’s still looking like a promising season. We’re obviously looking forward to getting back to the final and winning this time.”

POTG: While she wasn’t a factor in the loss, Torros striker St√©phanie Beaudry got the game winner against the FC Diamonds the week before and has been consistent in her goal scoring.
