Rafales 1
06 Apr

Each forced to go about it in different ways, Rafales 1 and 2 both found a way get their names on their respective divisional trophies.

After falling behind early against a dominant Queen of the World side, Rafales 2 responded in the second with a pair of pretty goals to take a 2-1 lead. Natacha Cognee managed to tie it up minutes later with her second of the night – but not before Jade Plante restored her team’s lead with yet another lovely redirect in close, paving the way for a buzzer-beating strike that bounced right under the crossbar to put this FB2 final out of reach.

Meanwhile, despite a late free-kick chip over on Field 2, it was a case of too little too late for top-seed Les Cheminots, who fell to the fourth-seed Rafales 1 by a score of 2-1 in the FB1 final.

In FA action, the Beans got some last-minute heroics from their keeper to hang on to a slender 2-1 victory over last-seed FC Repentigny. Les Rapaces got their overtime winner to capture a hard-fought 3-2 championship over Blue Sky in FC1 action, while the seasonally dominant Ice Queens shut out les Braves 1-0 to claim the FC2 Division championship.

POTG: Striker Jade Plante collected three goals in eventual back-to-back championship wins for les Rafales.
