Les Cougars proved the age-old adage that to sit on a lead is to commit championship suicide.

Up 1-0 ten minutes in on a pretty Laurence Richer goal, the FB1 season champs looked to have the game on lockdown. They spent the entire half pressing, leaving Les Hasbeen with little room to breathe or create plays.

But fortunes changed and the Hasbeens regained ball control after Les Cougars failed to make it 2-0 despite a blistering down the left flank and a ringer off the post. Genevieve Di Tiello finally tied things up after completing a nice reception in deep. And in the dying minutes, Jade Abboud beat the last defender and went cross side to give her team the 2-1 win.

Over on Field 2, meanwhile, it was anything but business as usual as the dominant B-Liners fell to Manon Cloutier and les Olympiques 3-1 in the FB2 Championship to break a four-game regular season deadlock.

Also worth mentioning is that despite falling behind 4-0 to the FC Fire in the first half, Torros did manage to give their boisterous bench and fans something to cheer about by staging a late-game comeback before bowing out in an eventual 5-2 championship loss.
