LAVAL WOMEN - MOTHER-TOUGHIN' INTUITION
07 sept.

The battles between those squads who don’t win as often as they’d like to are often the most grueling.

Take the Tough Mothers, for example. After suffering consecutive shutout losses to the by FB1 Division’s finest, the girls managed to scrape together a gutsy 2-1 win against a fellow rival scratching for the same last playoff spot.

“It felt good to win against les Oranges because we felt like we needed to show them what we are made of, for them to stop underestimating us,” explained Melissa Dubord. “We are definitely not as top shape as we were in our twenties. But we have the will to win and the love of the game to push us on. We play smart.”

With only a slim one-point cushion to their playoff names, the Tough Mothers will need to keep their collective Soccer IQ fairly high for their final two games of the season.

POTG: “We definitely love playing together and always play with our hearts. Always hard for us to name one MVP because we all love each other and attribute the win to the whole team. That’s just how we are.”
