Torros
LAVAL WOMEN - THE TIES THAT BIND
06 Aug

Games might slip away. But chemistry lasts forever.

After besting top dogs FC Fire the week before, Torros seemed destined to snatch the FC Division throne with a win over the equally ambitious FC Diamonds. Instead, a cascade of first-half errors cost them the game. It was their third loss to the FC Diamonds this summer.

“Even if we lost, we’re proud of the way we battled in the second half,” explains Elizabeth Lachance. “There’ll always be a next time to beat them!”

Composed mostly of former Monteuil football lifers who have since gone recreational, the Torros and their well-traveled fans have definitely not lost their collective desire to win. In what looks likely to remain a three-horse race to the FC Division finish line, Lachance expects her teammates will make something of their first summer in this league. “Despite the occasional disappointing game, we still enjoy every minute of it.”

POTG: “We don’t really have just one or even several girls who stick out. Team spirit is our real strength and every girl brings it to every game.”
