After fighting their way to pre-season glory, FC Touski got their first real taste of bitter disappointment.

“Overall it was a weird game, with a lot of goals and bad defense from both sides,” recounts Salima Djerroud, her team’s late-game comeback quashed in an eventual 9-7 loss to Zone. “We allowed too many goals on corner kicks – including the last one in the last minute of play. In the end, the better team won.”

While FC Touski will be hoping to tighten up the defense around their keeper in the coming games, Salima insists what her girls are really looking forward to is another “fun and pain free” encounter in the Zone.

POTG: “Patricia Lapierre keeps putting those goals in (10 to be exact) and is always a threat on the field.”
