Rather than silencing FC Diamond’s biggest guns, FC Fire went full steam ahead and simply outdrew them.

And so the current FC Divisions leaders, who just came off a lukewarm rookie winter season, put together an impressive 5-3 win against the Diamonds to remain undefeated three games into summer.

“I think our chances are much better now,” declared captain Loriane Fugère after the match, explaining how she replaced half her winter roster to get to where she is. While strong defense has been key, FC Fire has generated opportunistic scoring throughout. “The goal is to remain in first place all summer long!”

POTG: Fugère believes leading team scorers Noemie Lavoie and Alyson L’heureux deserve special mention for playing extremely well together.
